Dear Team,
Designed a product based on CYPD3125 type C Controller. Kindly look into the below link which is exactly equal to our requirement.
We made the same design with some minor change which is in the link. Please find attached schematics and kindly provide your feedback on schematics and let us know if it requires any change.
For CC lines U1 requires any Mosfet's or not. And please confirm USB host communication J1 connections.
Charging Tablet: Samsung TAB A (2017)

Hi Srini,
1. From the schematic you have supplied, it seems there are only 5V power PDO support and there is no data support. So that, the best part number is CYPD3175 for your design. Since CYPD3125 is benefit for DisplayPort Alt mode (The internal AUX MUX).
2. For the CC lines U1 requires any Mosfet's or not, the answer is depends on your requirements. If you add the MOS FET for isolation, it can protect CC pins.
>> If you use CYPD3175, the CC1 and CC2 have internal CC short protection.
Best Regards,
Lisa

Hi Liza,
Thanks for your reply,
Client suggested to go with CYPD3125. Kindly provide your feedback on schematics based on our requirements.
Kindly describe about host communication. Here we didn't use D+/D- pins. Connected via switching mosfet's.

Srini

Hi Srinivas,
It is difficult to have a comments based on the schematic, since the power path and data path is not clear, could you please draw a block diagram based on power path and data path based on your requirements, so that I can review the schematic you attached in details. Otherwise, there is no specification I can follow for the schematic review.
Best Regards,
Lisa

Hi LisaZ_26
Thanks for your reply. Please look into below image. This is the board which we have achieved our requirement.
1. PD over CC lines
2. USB host
In below board the DP/DM lines are not connected to the CYPD3125 controller. The host enabled through SUB2 signal line.
We made a reverse engineering of these board in that circuit they didn't connect to cypd3125 controller.
Kindly look into given link for more info: https://lavasimulcharge.com/products/lavasync-usb-c-mobile-adapters/lavasync-usb-c-adapters-hubs/lav...
Based on this kindly provide your feedback. Is it possible make host communication as per the evaluation board??
Kindly share CYPD3125 notebook firmware to enable N channel Mosfet's, VBUS Mon_ en and FW_LED.
This is our final hope, please let us know your complete feedback on this.

Hi LisaZ_26
We tested the cypd3125 type c controller customized board. And we achieved one of the requirement power delivery happening over CC lines. But stucked at USB host communication.
Kindly explain how SBU2 signal enables us to achieve the USB host communication. Or else Kindly refer any other method for Host communication.

Hi Srini,
From the schematic you attached in this thread, the SBU2 is not wired to Q3 gate. SBU2 of CCG3 cannot use it as normal GPIO. Could you please kindly use other un-used GPIO for this? For example,
So that, you can use GPIO write 1 to enable Q3.

Hi LisaZ_26
Thanks for your reply,
I assume that you have seen outdated schematics. SUB2 of CCG3 connected to Q3 of the gate.
Can you please explain about SBU2 signal. Why particularly that pin used for USB host operation in this evk (https://lavasimulcharge.com/products/lavasync-usb-c-mobile-adapters/lavasync-usb-c-adapters-hubs/lav...
If possible kindly share any reference for USB host communication

Hi LisaZ_26
Please confirm about SBU2 interface. How it is used for Host communication.
Please share any reference design for USB host for CYPD3125

Hi Srini,
As per Type-C SPEC define of SBU1/SBU2. I am not sure your requirements.
For USB host, it shall be wire to DP/DM and TX/RX of Type-C interface.
Best Regards,
Lisa
