Hello
Our company develops and manufactures dental scanners.
The scanner is connected with USB Type C and it supports Power Delivery.
We developed a Thunderbolt Cable includes CYPD2103 to operate our scanner.
It works fine on many laptops that support Thunderbolt, but not on a Dell Precision 7760 laptop.
Superspeed Line was initially connected and then disconnected.
If I connect our scanner with Thunderbolt Cable that I bought from internet and a Dell Precision 7760, it works fine.
I tried to change some settings with EZ PD Configuration Utility, but still does not working.
If there is a setting manual for CYPD2103, please let me know and advise about this problem.

Hi,
Thank you for posting on the Infineon community.
I see that you are using CCG2 to work in thunderbolt mode.
Please et me know whether you are using ACTIVE cable or PASSIVE cable to support TBT3. If it is PASSIVE, CMG1 is recommended, and if it is ACTIVE, CCG2 is recommended.
Please add the config parameters in EZ PD Config utility by adding additional SVID based on CCG2 passive cable to make Type-C to Type-C passive TBT3 cable.
Currently we donot have any example reference for thunderbolt cable designs.

Hello
I have additional question.
Is it possible to download firmware to multiple CYPD2103 chips via CY4532 EVK at once?
CY4532 EVK를 사용해서 CYPD2103에 한번에 다운로드가 가능합니까?
Please reply
Thanks.

Hi,
Can I please know how the current consumption can be divided when you have connected multiple type c sinks on the same port?
During programming there has to be minimal current that has to be sourced by the kit.

Hi,
Our Cable PCB is designed as shown below and supply power to CYPD2103 with VCONN Pin.
Jig PCB will download 5 cable PCBs at a time.
Can I apply external power to VCONN if the current is insufficient?
Thanks,
Hyungsung
