1. In the reference design of the CY4532 EZ-PD CCG3PA Assessment Kit (EVK), what condition is required to produce an output greater than 45W?

2. Is hardware change necessary?

3. Is firmware change necessary?

Hello,

The EZ-PD CCG3PA Evaluation Kit, CY4532 is not limited to 45W. The EVK hardware and firmware supports upto 60W (20V@3A) without any modification and will support full 100W upon minor hardware and firmware changes.

The limitation explained in the user guide is actually of the power supply / power brick that will power the CY4532 kit from an AC outlet.

By using a power adapter that is rated above the wattage required by the EVK application, you can deliver more than 45W to your sink.

For enabling 100W, VCONN support should be added, which is explained in this KBA.
