Studio Bluetooth Forum Discussions
I found a .zip file for cybt-343026-eval but I cannot find the directory mentioned in studio 5.2 on linux. I looked in WICED-5.2, Cypress, /usr/share/applications and /opt/cypress directories but I cannot find the Platforms directory anywhere.
Also I have a more fundamental question: what code comes loaded on the cybt-343026-eval bluetooth module? HCI? EZ-serial? Nothing? I plugged in the board and it created the /dev/ttyACM0 and /dev/ttyACM1 uart devices, but I've tried sending lots of stuff to them and the do not respond with even a single byte. I didn't change any of the default switches or jumpers on the board. I do see one red light blink on the board when I send lots of charaters. I'm using 115200 bps.
How can I load EZ-serial and HCI or whatever code I want without having to use the studio software? Also, where do I get the .hex (or whatever) firmware images to download. I want to do this all in linux.
Finally, should I be using smart instead of studio? and how do I get studio to probe the board to validate that I have everything working?
Show LessI am using 20719-B0_Bluetooth in WICED Studio 4.0,
Building of Application to the development kit is done.(download complete for hello_sensor BCM920719EVAL_Q40).
I am facing an issue while connecting to Bluetooth as 'hello_sensor' is not found when searched even after recovering and resetting switches(SW7 & SW1). Hence unable to proceed further.
Pls help me with this.

Show LessDoes the WICED studio support an option to generate .hcd instead of .hex? This is for CYW20706. Thanks.
Hi,
we are using Wiced 5.0.1 and have an implementation for HFP which is basically founded on the HFP example code from Wiced Studio. We are able to setup an HFP connection and receiving speech audio PCM samples. Our problem is to send speech audio samples back in the other direction. In the examples I can not find the location where this is done, therefore we use this function to hand-over speech audio PCM samples to the Wiced lib: wiced_bt_sco_output_stream().
This function indicates by return value, how many bytes have not been send by the stream. We encounter that roughly 7 packet of 120byte PCM sample will be sent by the function (return = 0), from there on no more data is sent by the stream. Maybe an internal buffer has been filled and then no more data is accepted.b
Maybe we are on the totally wrong way of doing this, but can anyone point me to an example, that shows how to send speech audio data via HFP? This should be a basic feature of HFP and I am wondering why this is causing trouble using the wiced libraries.
Thanks and regards
Andreas
Show LessCould someone please point me to where this utility is located under the SDK folder? I'm using the latest WICED studio 6.0.1. Thanks!
(This utility is listed here: WICED Bluetooth Software Features (CYW20706A2) )
Show LessI would like to allow the Host to sleep, then wake it up when there is a Bluetooth event. I have tried a number of different things, but the HOST_WAKE is always high and never changes. Some things I have tried:
1. wiced_sleep_config(WICED_TRUE,WICED_WAKE_GPIO_ACTIVE_HIGH,WICED_WAKE_GPIO_ACTIVE_HIGH); Then toggling BT_WAKE pin.
2. Also have tried accessing that pin directly with wiced_hal_gpio.h functions.
I feel like I am missing something. I don't think I want to put it into deep sleep mode otherwise it won't advertise. I am not concerned whether or not CYW20706 can go to sleep or not. I would just like to allow my Host to go to sleep and be able to wake it back up when there is a Bluetooth event. Any code examples or tips?
Thanks,
John
Hello all,
In WICED Studio:
I couldn't find readme files inside the snip folders for all the mesh bluetooth examples and also for the mesh controller Visual Studio project.
Where can I read any documentation?

Show LessHello,
In a hands-free application using BLE communication,
What is an effective way to reduce power consumption?
The power save option is not available in my application.
CYW20706 is the main host, so I can't use the deep sleep mode.
And the application is using a periodic timer(several tens of milliseconds),
so I can't use the low power sleep mode.
Please give me some advice on waht to do.
Thank you!
