It appears that FM25H20-DGTR is the same part as the one that used to be produced by Ramtron. Is it the same silicon? I need to know whether I should do a new FAI.

Hi Mark,
Yes, it is the same silicon.
Yes, you do need to modify the assembly to ensure that the exposed pad is not soldered. Please refer to the below link of application note which compares the key features of the two devices and shows how FM25V20A is a replacement for FM25H20.

Hi Mark,
Is this for a new design/application ? The part FM25H20 has been long obsoleted so we are asking this question. Can you once check its replacement part FM25V20A.

Hi, Pradipta,
No. this is an old design; however, we still have orders for it on occasion. We can get the Cypress version of the FM25H20-DGTR, but I wanted to make sure that it was the same silicon as the former Ramtron part.
As an aside, my understanding is that the FM25V20A would essentially be the same as the FM25H20, but we would have to modify the assembly to ensure that the pad is not soldered. Is that correct?
Thanks
Mark
