AURIX™ Development Studio
The AURIX™ Development Studio is a free of charge Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for the TriCore™-based AURIX™ microcontroller family. It is a comprehensive development environment, including Eclipse IDE, C-Compiler, Multi-core Debugger, Infineon low-level driver (iLLD), with no time and code-size limitations that enables editing, compiling, and debugging of application code. Combined with numerous code example projects, the IDE can be used to evaluate the powerful architecture of the AURIX™ microcontroller family. It supports Microsoft Windows 10 as a host operating system (OS).

In case you haven't noticed it yet, earlier this week Cypress released Component Pack 1 for PSoC Creator. This is the first of many component-only releases which add new peripherals to existing PSoC 3 and PSoC 5 devices. Component Pack 1 contains:
- emWin Graphics Library
- emFile FAT File System
- Resitive Touch Controller
- IIR (Biquad) support for the Digital Filter Component
The Cypress Update Manager should have already notified you of this new release. Expect to see Component Pack releases on a regular basis as we continue to add more new peripherals to the PSoC family.
Show LessHi,
unfortunately when a function is declared as reeantrant (with CYREENTRANT) it is not possible to watch local variables when debugging. Is there a magic trick to get some more insight into that?

Show LessI'm trying to update from PSoC Designer 5.1 SP2.1 After update manager checks for available updates an error is shown that sais: "Unable to get updates from update server. Please check for network connections/contact Cypress support."I have to mention that the update manager updates all the other software components. Can anyone tell me what is going on.?
Show LessHi
I am organising my work at the moment as a number of projects inside a single workspace (rather like Eclipse one would think).
However, because of the following observations, I wonder what the point of workspaces is.
1. Every time I open the workspace, all the projects are loaded (taking quite a long time, even on a 7 core W64 machine).
2. There is no way (as far I can determine) of not opening projects within a workspace when the workspace is opened.
3. Most annoyingly, the arrangement of the projects when the workspace is closed (i.e. which one is the 'active' project, which files/views are open and the sizes and positions of the windows) is forgotten when it's next opened. It seems to revert to the last added project being the active one and loads ALL the design windows as well as some arbitrary collection of source files.
4. There appears to be no difference in opening the top .app file, or the .cmx file of a particular project or the .soc of a particular project - the whole shebang is done all over again whichever one is opened!
For me this is getting worse and worse as I add my 13 projects to my workspace - please tell me there are improvemnets to this in the pipeline 🙂 -- or that I need to do something to make it all work as it should.
I am running on Windows 7 (64 bit)
Regards, Tim
Show LessI am really interested to find out whether there is any actual work in progress on bringing the SD card support in PSoC Designer again.
The matter has been discussed many times, the users clearly wanted the UM back as in today's world any lack of support of large memory such as the SD cards is a huge disadvantage for the platform.
It is well known there has been some issues with the module, yet Cypress show disturbing reluctance to fix them quickly and return it back in use? I would like to know is the reason market-related, something like by taking away functionality from PSoC1 to make an attempt to force the users to switch to PSoC3 or 5? If that is the case, well that's really bad as PSoC1 has significant support by developers who for one reason or another can't or don't want to switch to 8051 or ARM platforms.
There is no tools to make petitions in this forum, but in any case I would like to find out what the real situation is.
Show LessPSoC Creator 2.0 is now on the web with some valuable new components:
- S/PDIF for Audio transmission
- LIN communications which is commonly used in Automotive applications
- Support for the CAN library from Vector
- External memory Interface (EMIF) support for PSoC 3
- Annotation Library which allows components from you board to be depicted in your Creator schematic
While you're working with these new components, we are busy working on the next set of new components. Rather than make you wait until PSoC Creator 2.1 before you see more new components, we have another new feature in Creator 2.0 that allows us to provide you new components much more quickly. The new feature is the capability to provide a Component Pack. With a Component Pack we can deliver brand new components and deliver new versions of existing components. We'll do this without changing PSoC Creator and without requiring a full new installation. You can install a new component pack quickly and then you can choose when to start using these new components and new component versions all without impacting what version of Creator is building your current designs.
We have several new components that are finishing up now that will go into the first Component Pack which will ship early next year.
For those of you that like to dig a little deeper into how things work you may notice that with PSoC Creator 2.0 there is an additional library dependency called CyComponentLibraryUpdates that is included by default. This is the library that will contain the new and updated components that ship in a Component Pack. This library is currently empty. With each component pack this library will add content and then when PSoC Creator 2.1 ships they will all migrate into the base CyComponentLibrary and we'll start building this update library again. The PSoC Creator component catalog merges all the content from these libraries together into a single combined view, so you don't need to think about what library your content is coming from. This is just the mechanism that we've added with PSoC Creator to make these rapid releases of content possible.
Creator 2.0 features many new components, the S/PDIF Transmitter is one of those.
It is supported by DMA, offers 8/16 and 24-bit sample length and supports up to 192 kHz sample rate. Streaming music from your PSoC has just become a lot simpler.
Hint: Datasheets for all components can be opened directly within Creator. If you select the component, a preview window shows a link to the datasheet underneath the component list.
Show LessIt would be really great for design documentation if we could name the bits in a control register.
Right now the component labels them control_0, control_1, ...
If the customizer had fields where we could provide more descriptive names that would then be displayed in the drawing, that would be awesome.
If someone does this, be sure to test it with names like "Channel:0", "Channel:1", etc because it is pretty common to have a multi-bit field in a control register (for example to control a mux/demux).
Show LessTo whom it may concern,
I have the EBK and downloaded the 1.0 version of code for development when I bought the EBK from Avnet a couple months back. Is there any updates that work with the new released processor modules?
The code will not buld on v2.0 nor v1.0 of PSOC creator.
Thanks
Gordon
