My apologies for the confusion Doug.
The tags are typically added by the user based on their assesment of what key information the post conveys.
However, in thinking about this it may not make sense to ask the user for this information within our implementation of the platform, but to have the forum moderators and admins provide the tags to the post after the post/discussion has been submitted.
