Hi,
I'm using the 24GHz radar Distance2GoL board, and just wondering is meant by software controlled FMCW?
I can't find any correct definition of that.
Thanks,
Walter

Hi @walterwhite
For DEMO DISTANCE2GOL board, we are using a Software-Controlled loop, via the microcontroller DAC peripheral, in order to perform the frequency control and FMCW ramp generation. This eliminates the need for a high-cost PLL IC, hence reducing system cost. Please refer to the D2GL hardware AN615 or to the D2GL software UM
Usually, we are doing this via external hardware PLL (e.g. LMX2491 for DEMO POSITION2GO).
Cheers,
Montassar.
