Anyone has technical recommendations for a low--cost  (24GHz+) radar sensor that can be incorporated into a device that measures the velocity of a single small metal object?

Here are the parameters:
single small solid metal object, such as lead pellets/balls, between 4.5mm to 8.5mm diameter
- distance envelope of object from radar sensor: 12cm-2m traveling away from sensor at zero angle
-velocity: minimum:  200 km/h - 1300 km/h   (prefer 200-km/h to 4800 km/h)        /200 fps-1110 fps  or  200 fps - 4500 fps/

What would be the detection-zone of such radar in front of the sensor for such a small object?  For example:  the radar can measure a 4.5mm diameter object from 25cm-65cm (that would be a 40cm long detection-zone) in front of the sensor.

Hello @TommyS ,

All our products are designed and tested for human target (RCS) detection. Thus, they have not been tested for such high velocity and smaller objects. Please go through our product selection guide for 24GHz radar sensors documentation and boards.

You can also refer to the following thread for similar content for 24GHz radar sensors. Thread: https://community.infineon.com/t5/Radar-sensor/Doppler-radar-sensor/td-p/343330

Best Regards,

Honey
