For a inline measurement system, I need to measure the position of a target on the line (measured from the side of the line).

The distance from the sensor to the target is between 50 to 400 mm, depending of the  product that is running.

The target surface to the sensor will be  minimal 20 x 40 mm. 

I need to do at least 100 measurements per second.

Does anyone how to realize this?

Thank you for your question.

Based on the description, some suggestion is following based on Infineon Radar sensor for IOT:

 

1. The detection distance range is 50 to 400 mm.

According to the document below, both 24GHz and 60GHz radar sensors can cover this range, but 60GHz radar sensors have much better range resolution.

2. The target surface to the sensor will be minimal 20 x 40 mm.

This requirement is related to target separation, as shown before, BGT60TR13C satisfied.

 

3. At least 100 measurements per second.

BGT60TR13C has three ADC channels with 12 bits resolution and up to 4 MSps sampling rate to sample the RX-IF channels will meet this requirement.

As a conclusion, BGT60TR13C may meet your need and you can find more data about this device in:
