This document explains how to use the enterprise security features supported in Cypress WICED™ Wi-Fi devices. The document also lists the various enterprise security features supported in WICED and the supported WICED platforms. The BCM943364WCD1 is the reference platform used in the examples and the existence of an enterprise security network is assumed.
The following elements are required to connect a WICED device to an enterprise network:
- A computer with at least one USB port to connect the WICED Evaluation Board and run the WICED SDK
- Serial communication program, such as PuTTY, installed in the computer.
- An enterprise network infrastructure
- RADIUS (Authentication) Server - Ubuntu 16.04 LTS machine with:
- Free-Radius Version 2.2.9 as an EAP-Server - Free-Radius configured to support EAP-TLS, EAP-TTLS, PEAPv0-MSCHAPv2
- Self-signed certificates
- Wi-Fi Routers
- Routers available in the market, which supports enterprise security (802.1X) configurations
- Supplicant
- WICED Wi-Fi device (For demonstration purpose, BCM943364WCD1 is used as a supplicant device)
