Hello,

The Cadence symbol for TDA21570 provided by Infineon doesn't quite match the datasheet:

According to the datasheet pins 1,31, 42, and 43 are NC. However, the symbol defines the pin 43 as PGND and the pin 42 is completely absent from the schematics symbol although there is a keepout in the footprint around the area where the pin 42 should be.  I guess the main question is about the pin 43. Should I assume that the symbol is wrong and the pin should better be left unconnected?

Thanks,
/Mikhail

Hello @matus ,

Thank you for posting your query on the Infineon community.

Yes, Pins 1, 31, 42 & 43 are NC for TDA21570. Please do not connect any net to pins 1, 31 & 42.

The reason pin 43 is shown as PGND in the part symbol is to have pin-to-pin compatibility with old-gen parts like TDA21472. Connecting pin 43 to PGND for TDA21570 will have a slight impact on the current sense accuracy.

So you want your design to be backward compatible with parts like TDA21472, please connect pin 43 to PGND, or else leave this pin as NC.

Regards,

Premsagar S
