First question asked Welcome!

Hi,

I am planning to use the SS1 output of the TLF35584. I don't fully understand how the output behaves when the SBC is in the safe state. Is the output actively pulldown and if so how much current can it sink or is there an internal pulldown resistor?

thank you

Hello,

There is an internal pull-down resistor of value typ 100k Ohm.
Please connect an external pull-down resistor of a value less than 100k Ohm as shown in the datasheet.

Choosing a very low external pull-up resistor influences the voltage at SS1/2 pins during SS1/2 HIGH conditions. This voltage should be suitable for application needs external to the SS1/2 pin circuit.  The maximum drive strength for this pin is 5mA.
