Hello,

I have two independent questions:

It appears that the Efficiency Tool doesn't work correctly when an external power stage is used on the switcher A.

In the Design Wizard I am not able to change any of the thresholds or limits in the second step. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
/Mikhail

Hello @matus ,

Can you share GUI screenshots of the Efficiency tool setting and Efficiency chart for your design?

You will not be able to set all the thresholds and limits in the Design Wizard.

You can set the thresholds and limits through the PMBUS command set once you complete the base design using the design wizard. Refer to the screenshot below.

Hello @Nishanth ,

Please see below. This is just a draft. The LDO can be turned off and I don't know why the wizard left SWD enabled when the switchers C and D are combined.

Thanks,
/Mikhail

Hello @matus ,

If an external power stage is being used, there is an issue with the efficiency tool.

The efficiency tool will only give an approximation for reference.

Nishanth

Hello @Nishanth ,

As you can see from the screenshot above, the approximation is clearly wrong and unrealistic. An IC cannot dissipate 1841715 W.

Thanks,
