We are using AURIX microcontroller SAK-TC364DP-64F300F with PMIC TLF35584 for 11kW onboard charger application.

For TLF35584, there are two options for switching frequencies, 400KHz & 2.2 MHz.

For EMI / EMC point of view, which frequency is suitable. As of now we don't have any stringent requirement for EMI/EMC.

Can anyone pls help me here.

Please find the EMC report at both the switching frequencies from the link below:

Hello,

Thank you for posting in Infineon community.

TLF35584 provides two options for the user to configure switching frequency and the right option depends on system requirements. Some of them are as follows:

1.Noise:

With higher frequency and a low pass filter, noise (harmonics) can be pushed outside the sensitive analog circuitry.

2.Efficiency:

Higher switching means lower efficiency due to higher switching loss.

3.Board Space:

Higher switching frequency results in lower L,C values and hence smaller L and C for the same performance, reducing the board space.

4.Ripple:

Increased switching frequency leads to decreased ripple amplitude.

In addition to the above parameters, do refer chapter 6.3.3 Typical Performance Characteristics for output characteristics at different switching frequency.

Thanks

Anil

Thanks Anilkumar,

But, what are effects on the EMI / EMC performance, conducted emissions?
