Hello,

I want to use the ICE3PCS01 in an aviation project.

Is it possibe to adapt it to 400 - 800Hz wide frequency net?

Hi,

We didn't see any limitation from our side for the range 400Hz-800Hz but would recommend you to build some PFC converter prototype and do measurements to check if it matches your application requirements or not before using the IC, such as:

I. Vac & Iac waveforms and power factor @ 400~800Hz, high line/low line .
II. Voltage overshoot/undershoot during Load jump @ 400~800Hz, high line/low line .

Regards,
Anshika

Hello,
Thank you for posting on Infineon Community.

Can you please confirm the frequency, is it in Hz or kHz?
The operating frequency range for ICE3PCS01 is 21kHz to 100kHz.  For PFC CCM ICs available, Infineon offers
gate switching frequency range from 21kHz to 100kHz and able to synchronise with external frequency range from 50kHz to 100kHz.

Anshika

Hello,

I've meant 400 to 800Hz line frequency.

Hello,
Apologies for the delay in response.

The product IC3PCS01G can operate at 400 Hz. We are still looking towards the limit of the frequency range. Can you please confirm the range once again?

Anshika

Hi,

good news so far.

The range of the line frequency in this avionic project ranges from 360Hz to 800Hz.
The powerline frequency in these Aircrafts is much higher than in public utility networks (50/60hz) and it is not constant.
Line frequency changes with load from minimum 360Hz up to 800Hz maximum.

I would be thankfull for any design hints concerning the 360 to 800Hz line frequency.
A slighly drop in power factor at frequency above 400hz is possibly acceptable.

Best Regard
Michael
