PSoC™ Creator & Designer Forum Discussions
Hi,
I compiled successfully a PSoC6 project using PSoC Creator 4.2 and tried to load it into my CY8CPROTO-062-4343W board. It complained that the Kitprog3 is not supported and would not load.
Why? Is there a reason that the PSoC6 could not support PSoC6-only operation through PSoC Creator 4.2?

Show LessHello,
What kind of In-Circuit Emulator for FM0 using PSoC Creator is available?
Can we use which emulator the miniprog3 or the J-Link from Segger?
Please let me know the emulators that are available.
Best regards, Maru
Show LessThe Task Manager shows me a 100% Ethernet load during compilation! I looked into the Task Manager because the compile process was so incredibly slow. If I unplug the Ethernet cable and compile it has 0% Ethernet load, of course, and the compiler has normal speed again. I'm not amused about that.
So what does Cypress do with the network!!!
Show LessI noticed in PSoC Creator 4.2 that in both the Bluetooth 4.2 component (for PSoC4) and the Bluetooth 5.0 component (for PSoC6) you cannot add in a custom characteristic to a standard Gatt Service (e.g. 181A Environmental Sensing, 180F Battery, 1809 Health Thermometer, etc.) via TopDesign config.
I assume this was intentional but I'm unsure of the reasons why.
Maybe someone can enlighten me.
Thanks
Show LessHi all,
I am having an issue where the IDE export wizard in PSoC Creator seems to be unselecting all of the files I select at the Application Files page.
Further details:
- I am generating a CMSIS-Pack
- I filled out the vendor name, pack name, etc and left the default uVision path to TOOLS.INI (which is correct for my configuration).
- At the application files page, I have tried to export a single file and all of the files, but neither set appears once I import the pack to uVision.
On the Keil uVision side:
- Create a new project
- Select the PSoC 4200L target that came from the pack
Now when I get to the "Manage Run-Time Environment" page, I can add the startup code which is located under "Device" but there is no application code located under "PSoC Creator" like the documentation suggests.
Is there some setting I am missing here to include the application code?
Environment Details:
CY8C4247LTI-L475 (PSoC 4200L)
PSoC Creator 4.2 (4.2.0.641)
uVision V5.26.2.0
Windows 10
Thank you in advance.
Edit: Is seems the generated .gpdsc file is never parsed and used to add the "PSoC Creator" component to the pack. Does this file need to be referenced somewhere to get this to work? At the end of the IDE export, I get a windows popup indication that there is no program to run .gpdsc files which would imply there is something failing in the export script.
Show LessI am just starting to learn rtos so i want to understand how it works for example if i have encoder dc motor and servo motor how it can be done using rtos. Encoder motor needs to run for certain position and servo has to reach certain degree.Normally without rtos a particular task is completed and it moves to the next one. since rtos uses task switching how will task be completed for the encoder and servo motor (for how much time will task keep switching and how it is possible).
Show LessHi,
I would like to confirm for STA error report at PSoC Creator.
(1)
Are there up to 10 STA errors displayed?
If there are 10 or more errors, Is it possible for us to check other errors?
(2)
If we can not confirm an error of 10 points or more,
Is it possible to mask the currently displayed errors?
(3)
Or is it possible to see the internal logic netlist?
Reagads,
Show LessHi,
I'm using Creator v4.2 on a Windows 7 box.
I'm trying to figure out the function of the <project>.cyfit file. It appears in both the main project and codegentemp directories, and whenever I do a git status on my project repository, it has changed - sometimes even if nothing else has changed. It's binary, so looking at the contents or diffing with previous versions is not helpful. I know I can name it in my .gitignore file, but that means changes won't be tracked, and I'm just a tad nervous of doing so without understanding its function.
Can anyone shed any light?
Thanks,
Mike Holmes

Show LessI am trying to create multiple clock dividers using the "Frequency Divider" component however I am quickly running out of UDB resources. Is there another way to divide an incoming signal in the KHz to multiple signals in Hz range without running out of space? I am using the CY8CKIT-043
Show LessJust want to report that PSoC-Creator 4.2 crashes (hangs - not responding) with lots of warning/error output.
I worked around it by starting a build and then stopping/cancelling it straight away and see the first few warnings/errors and fixing them. Then do it again, working a few errors at a time. I had many of the same types of warnings/errors so with a few fixes (having to do extra '{' and '}' for struct inits!?), it compiled again.
