Sorry,

This is no big feature, but it is annoying that you can't remove more than one file at a time from the "Workspace Explorer".
You can add more than one file at a time (by selecting multiple files in the dialogue box that pops up when you click "Add->Existing Item"), but to remove them you have to manually do it for each one. This can become tedious when you have large numbers of files.
And no, you can't select multiple files with CTRL or SHIFT.
You can remove a folder though, which removes all child files/folders. But it would be nice to be able to select multiple files at once in the Workspace Explorer.
Surely this is a easy fix?

Any idea what would be the price range comparing with PSoC5 and the LP with similar RAM/ROM and features?

I would like to propose a new/old idea, an indepth, comprehensive, searchable
selector guide for all PSOC families.
If you look at Freescale and uChip they have variations on this, both companies with
more indepth guide than selector on Cypress website or in design tools.
Some points -
1) Contain design status/part maturity
2) 1K price
3) Constanly in revision, Cypress adds to it incrementally, eg. do not tackle a huge problem all in one effort
4) Cypress already has a base to start from, Designer and Creator and Web databases
5) Add stuff like sleep currents, ref accuracy, MIPs, all modules, memory speed, package pitch, thermal R,
startup time, clock accuracy ............just keep adding attributes
6) Allows marketing, in one tool, to convey and control design focus parts vs mature vs eol parts, great
for Cypress field sales and FAEs, as well as customers. A "living" tool.
7) All PSOC familes
Just a thought.
Regards, Dana.
Show LessThis question is further to my question a Why does EZI2C need a 60MHz clock? But the mystery has deepened, and new evidence points to something strange happening in PSoC Creator.
Background:
I'm using the EZI2C device to emulate an I2C EEPROM. It is being read by an external device. I wired it up as you'd expect, using the special I2C0:SCL and I2C0:SDA pins. Data rate 300kbps, 1 address, Primary slave address 0x50, Sub address size 8, Pin connections Any. The PSoC's Master clock is set to 40MHz. The project is empty except for the EZI2C component and its pins. The main() function does nothing (just an empty loop) after setting up the EZI2C component.
At this point, everything is working correctly. The external device can read values as if there was a real EEPROM there.
Strange bit:
Next, without changing any code, or any other setting within the project, I delete the file SF_01.cywrk.Sandy Lunch which appears in my project directory. PSoC Creator almost instantly re-creates it, but it's not identical to the original. Then I press Shift-F6 to build the project. The output says:
--------------- Build Started: 04/18/2013 17:50:43 Project: RNX-PCB-ST-GIO_00, Configuration: DP8051 Keil 9.03 Debug ---------------
The code generation step is up to date.
The compile step is up to date, no work needs to be done.
The link step is up to date, no work needs to be done.
--------------- Build Succeeded: 04/18/2013 17:50:44 ---------------
Looks like that workspace file isn't required by the build process right? -- Wrong!
Next I do a clean and build, and re-program the PSoC with the new code. Now it doesn't work properly. The external device only sees nonsense values coming back from the PSoC. Then, if I increase the master clock to 60MHz and re-build and re-program, the EZI2C seems to work again.
What's going on here? Why is there a generated file which affects the build process like this? If it affects the build process, then why doesn't the build process know that? What on earth is contained in this file that is affecting my project in this way?
Show LessUpon entering debug mode in PSoC Creator, it crashes, giving the general and not-very-helpful error message "psoc_creator.exe" has stopped working.
The project I am trying to debug compiles/builds fine. I have restarted the computer and get the same error.
Using Visual Studio to investigate further, the actual exception thrown is "ArgumentException" and the info is "Illegal characters in path". I could probably get more information (like the path string which caused the exception) from Visual Studio but I don't know what to look for.
My project is in a folder with spaces in the path name, but that hasn't been an issue before. Does anyone have any ideas?
