I have a PSoC 6 BLE Pioneer Kit CY8CKIT-062-BLE (Rev *B, Rev 11) that I am trying to program the Hello World code example with. I have already upgraded to KitProg3 using the Firmware Loader application.

I am able to successfully build the Hello World application and it looks like it is getting loaded onto the device but when it finishes loading, nothing happens on the board. I expect to see an LED blinking but I only see LED2 and LED4 fully on.

The last message I see in the console is:

Info : kitprog3: acquiring the device (mode: reset)...
[psoc6.cpu.cm0] halted due to debug-request, current mode: Thread

I have attached the output log of the programmer. Am I missing a step or doing something wrong here?

Hi @brenty

Can you please verify whether the board is in default kit configuration?
Please refer to section 3.1 of CY8CKIT-062-BLE_PSoC_6-BLE_Pioneer_Kit_Guide.
https://www.infineon.com/dgdl/Infineon-CY8CKIT-062-BLE_PSoC_6-BLE_Pioneer_Kit_Guide-UserManual-v01_0...

Thanks and Regards,
Leo

Hi Leo,

I looked in Section 3.1 of the User Manual and didn't see anything explicitly about default kit configuration. For my development board, here's the setup for the switches:

SW3: Set to SWD programming mode (Amber LED is solid on, Red and Green LED are off)

SW5: Set to the default middle position for 3.3V

SW6: Set to default position of PSoC 6 BLE

SW7: Set to default position of VDDD/KitProg2

I haven't made any hardware changes/reworks to the board so it should be in the default kit configuration.

Hi @brenty

In the Hello World example the kit LED blinks at 1 Hz. I believe you are unable to see it in the board after programming . Can you also try opening the serial terminal and observe "Hello World" being printed as shown?

Set the baud rate as 115200 in the serial terminal settings to view the same.

Thanks and Regards,
Leo

That is correct, I do not see the LED blinking on the board after programming.

When I open a serial terminal with baud rate 115200 for the device, nothing prints onto the screen.

Hi @brenty

I noticed that you are using Rev *B, Rev 11 version of the PSoC 6 BLE Pioneer Kit CY8CKIT-062-BLE. Unfortunatley, this revision is not supported in ModusToolbox and given in the product webpage. Currently this version of the kit is only supported in PSoC Creator 4.2 or greater. That is why the firmware is not running as expected in the kit.

Thanks. Unfortunately, I only have an Apple laptop right now. I will try and get access to a Windows laptop or try to use Parallels.

Hi @brenty

Please note that you should have a Kit Revision *C or above to use it with ModusToolbox.

Thanks and Regards,
Leo
