Hello,

I have installed the latest version of the ModusToolbox and try to create a "New Application".

Usually I should get a list of kits for selecting the one I want to use. But unfortunately the process stops with the following error message:

I think that I followed the installation guide correctly.

I've set the environment variables like this:

The different directories do exist, but the manifest.loc file does not.

The problem occurs with and without VPN connection on my company notebook (Windows 10).
I don't have any problems on my private notebook (Windows 11).

Is there anything else I should check?

Dear Muhammad,

Thanks for your suggestions.

Accessing github via browser as you proposed in 1. succeeded.

I continued with your list but failed at point 4.

I don't know why the project-creator-cli.exe is not being found. For me it should be available below the tools directory (fitting to the environment variable):

However, creating an Application from within the MTB graphical IDE works now!

Obviously the command

git config --global http.sslverify "false"

was the crucial command.

Thanks to all for your support!

Best regards,

Jörg

Hi @jorgnitsche

Can you please try deleting the device-db folder in the C:\Users\unitj001\.modustoolbox\global\ directory? After deleting the folder, restart ModusToolbox and try to create a new project. Let me know if the problem persists.

Thanks and Regards,
Leo

Dear Leo,

Actually the global directory was empty all the time.
I can delete it and MTB creates a new global directory. But this one remains empty.

So at the end the situation is as before.

Best regards,

Jörg

Hi @jorgnitsche

Can you please verify whether you have the ca-bundle.crt certificate present in the C:\Infineon \Tools\ModusToolbox\tools_3.0\modus-shell\etc\pki\tls\certs directory?

Also, I believe you have installed ModusToolbox3.0 in a custom location. Can you please refer to section 4.5 "Environment Variables" in ModusToolbox userguide?

Thanks and Regards,
Leo

Hi Leo,

I checked the C:\Infineon\Tools\ModusToolbox\tools_3.0\modus-shell\etc\pki\tls\certs directory and it is empty. The ca-bundle.crt file is neither in the installation path C:\Infineon nor below.

I checked the ModusToolbox userguide, but there is no chapter 4.5.
Anyhow the environment variables fit to the different paths from my installation. And I'm pretty sure that my IT support used the proposed installation path for all users.

Hello @jorgnitsche ,

By the chance I read your thread.
Since this is on weekend, while my colleague @LeoMathews away, maybe we can try next steps as you have done previous checks.
Can you try following steps on your company notebook?

  1. Check first on your browser for the failed link mentioned on your log (the https://github.com/Infineon/device-db/).
    nandax_0-1686988172580.png

  2. If above #1 step is failed, you may contact your IT section / team on your company.
However if OK (can be opened in browser), we can do next steps by opening the MTB shell (modus-shell),
then switch to directory / folder that you want to create new application.
    nandax_0-1686989124183.png

  3. After switch directory, use git command:
    git config --global http.sslverify "false"
  4. Then, we will use command line of project creator, first checking your BSP name by listing using:
    project-creator-cli.exe --list-boards

For me, I will choose "CY8CPROTO-063-BLE", then copy / remember this name for the next command(s).

  5. Choose template application by using command:
    project-creator-cli.exe --list-apps CY8CPROTO-063-BLE

This time I will choose "mtb-example-hal-hello-world",  then copy / remember this name for the next command

  6. Finally create project using this command:
    project-creator-cli.exe -b CY8CPROTO-063-BLE -a mtb-example-hal-hello-world -n try_test_1

  7. If project successfully created it will show like this:
    nandax_2-1686999763543.png

Any updates, please kindly inform us. 🙂

Thank you and regards,
Muhammad Nanda
