Hello, long ago I longed for something like CY8CPROTO-062-4343W. At the time, Modus Toolbox (MTB) was being brought out and even if this proto-board was available, #PSoC 6 was not going to be supported by Creator. I see that Modus Toolbox is the intended development environment. Further, I have noted that UDB's are not supported by Modus Toolbox.

Can MTB and this proto-board (CY8CPROTO-062-4343W) support a BT-le/Wi Fi project with 7 (non-matrixed) buttons and 5 sliders?

Note: Possible magnetic sensing joystick (see Infineon's TLE493D-W2B6) and Rotary encoders may also be involved.

Thanks very much.

Hello @TiMi_264191 ,

You can use  CY8CPROTO-062-4343W on MTB. The wireless support both Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and WiFi.
Please kindly refers to the kit guide:
https://www.infineon.com/dgdl/Infineon-CY8CPROTO-062-4343W_PSoC_6_Wi-Fi_BT_Prototyping_Kit_Guide-Use...

Some exercise can be tried using this kit in:
https://github.com/Infineon/training-modustoolbox-level2-psoc
Please kindly refers to the manual documentations (PDF files) to test the board.

The PSoC 6 in that board is CY8C624ABZI-D44. you can refers to the Datasheet of the chip:
https://www.infineon.com/dgdl/Infineon-PSOC_6_MCU_CY8C62X8_CY8C62XA-DataSheet-v18_00-EN.pdf?fileId=8...

It has many GPIO pins and peripherals that can be used for some external components.
If you used 7 external buttons, surely they can be connected.

Then, may I know which sliders component you will used ?
What kind of pins or input(s) do the sliders have ?

Thank you and regards,
Muhammad Nanda

Thank you Muhammad and Ekta,

This is all very good to hear. The sliders will be like the one on the board (CapSense) as will the buttons if at all possible. I will need to experiment to get their physical size down to less than 25% (area) compared to those on the protoboard.  My project will also need to accomplish haptic feedback for buttons and sliders. So I'll need 10-12 more i/o pins for that. If all that works as hoped, no rotary encoders or magnetic sensors will be needed.

I'm hoping the CY8C624ABZI-D44 will also have USB capability for boot loading and battery charging. I will be looking at its datasheet shortly.

New hope for this project. Thanks all.

Hi @TiMi_264191

  • PSoC Creator does support  PSoC 6 parts with 1M and lower Flash. As mentioned by @MuhammadNanda_K the part in the board is CY8C624ABZI-D44 which is a 2M Flash part and is supported only in Modustoolbox.
  • The kit has a CapSense touch-sensing slider (5 elements) and two CapSense buttons, all of which are capable of both self- capacitance (CSD) and mutual-capacitance (CSX) operation
