ModusToolbox™ v3.2 is now available for installation using the new ModusToolbox™ Setup program. ModusToolbox™ provides an adaptable work environment with options for various IDEs, command-line tools with GUI options, and a make-based build system.
ModusToolbox™ v3.2 introduces the following new features:
- New installation process, providing easy access to the core tools and management of optional feature packs.
- The bundled Eclipse IDE for ModusToolbox™ has been updated to leverage Eclipse Platform v4.28, bringing modern OS features and support for Modus-Shell integration in Windows 11.
- Intellisense support has been improved within the Eclipse IDE for ModusToolbox™.
- The underlying ModusToolbox™ build system has been enhanced to improve the overall build performance, by caching project discoverability and build command preprocessing.
- Updated ModusToolbox™ Configurators and Middleware libraries with improved support for 5th Generation CAPSENSE™ devices.
- Usability improvements within the BSP Assistant and Smart I/O tools, providing easier access to key documentation and workflows.
The ModusToolbox™ ecosystem now includes the ModusToolbox™ Setup program (v1.0). This installation tool is the recommended way to install ModusToolbox™ including additional patches and packs.
This setup program is an online installation utility that requires an active internet connection. If you need to download and install ModusToolbox™ in an offline fashion, please refer to the ModusToolbox™ Offline Installation page for details.

I created a new BSP based on a PSoC4 MAX part (CY8C4148AZI-S558) using the BSP Assistant app. I am attempting to create a new CapSense CSX touchpad application using the Eclipse IDE application wizard. I am able to successfully create the project, but when I attempt to compile I get an error:
#error The CAPSENSE(TM) Configurator requires a newer version of the CAPSENSE(TM) Middleware. Update the CAPSENSE(TM) Middleware in your project
I see in the firmware that the middleware version it is including is 4.0, but I have selected 5.0 in the BSP Assistant Library section:
Any idea what could be going wrong?
To all,
I have place a Windows PC terminal source code in C# on the Code sharing forum.

Show LessHello, ModusToolbox can't network to download information, using ModusToolbox_URL_Modifier_v1.7(IFX-TEST) didn't solve the problem, and following the PDF's procedure resulted in the following result.

Show LessHello,
I see the build warning as below in the latest MTB 3.2 version. Is this an issue that can be fixed by Infineon or else it is upto the ARM?

Show LessI have installed ModusToolbox 3.2 and wanted to create my first application using the USB on a XMC4500.
But I did not get far as the USB (device or host) is not in the list of peripherials. Why does Infineon not support the USB?
Does anyone have a working USB example for the XMC4500? I have tried using the USB driver supplied in the ARM/Keil µVision pack, but that does not work correctly and after 6 months the Infineon support has given up and closed my support case.
Can anyone help?
Show LessI would like to use Modustoolbox to develop rt thread project and was trying to follow the guide https://community.infineon.com/t5/Knowledge-Base-Articles/Porting-RT-Thread-to-ModusToolbox/ta-p/664401
While the guide is awesome demonstrating rt thread works, It does not have enough details of steps and setup for me.
I tried creating a capsense project, import rt thread into the project, removed all unnecessary srcs. But I got stuck with many weird libc & toolchain errors with the default gcc-arm compiler on Linux, like time_t is unknown typename and false/true/bool is undefined.
This first error is kinda "fixed" by explicitly telling eclipse to include the newlib header dir. The second is not. It is really weird and the IDE can successful locate those headers.
Could anyone help me out with this?
Show LessI'm trying to install ModusToolbox on Linux (Ubuntu 22.04) but I fail to get past the login process.
I originally posted a reply to this thread as it looked similar to my issue but was asked to create a new thread instead.
I downloaded "ModusToolboxSetupInstaller_1.0.0.468_linux_x64.deb" from softwaretools.infineon.com and launched it.
I get the following log messages:
After clicking on "Login" nothing happens and I get the following log:
I don't know how to solve this issue as I don't even see a login prompt. I only get the error "Error: Failed to Login: 'process failed to start'"
Show LessHi Folks,
From the previows discussion, finally I could download Setup1.0
https://community.infineon.com/t5/ModusToolbox/Release-Announcement-ModusToolbox-v3-2-available-for-download/td-p/714363
Then when I tried to ModusToolbox setup, it did not went good.
So I removed related files, as far as I could think of, then re-downloaded
ModusToolboxSetupInstaller_1.0.0.468_windows_x64_signed.exe
launcher2_2023.9.1_Windows_x32-x64.exe
I installed both and in the Launcher I can see the SETUP
In this window, I'm already logged in as me, but allow me to hide my working mail address 😉
(At least "Log out" icon is there)
Then when I click and start the Setup, I get
Error: Failed to start Launcher Service: 'process failed to start'
and
Error: Failed to check for the ModusToolbox Setup update
Since the upper left of the ModusToolbox Setup 1.0 is saying "Login"
I clicked the "Login" Icon, then got
Error: Failed to Login: 'process failed to start'
Note: The right side of the "Login" Icon is saying "Login session is in progress" >_<
Just in case, let me note that I can login to both MyInfineon and IDC.
(1) MyInfineon
(2) Infineon Developer Community (So, I can post this here)
Since the Setup Utility has removed my ModusToolbox 3.1,
currently I have no MTB on my PC, I'd really like to install v3.2.
Now my question is would someone teach me what the safest or the most reliable way to install MTB v3.2 is?
And/or how can I find the cause(s) of errors above?
moto

Still getting used to the newer ModusToolbox apps, as we had used PSoC Creator for years. I created a new project based on the MPN using the BSP Assistant app. This project uses the CapSense library to create a touchpad. Using the CapSense Configurator app, I successfully assigned each of the Rows/Columns to a specific GPIO. This assignment was reflected in the Device Configurator app. However, now I would like to add a few more rows/columns to my touchpad. I labelled these GPIO in the "Pins" tab of the Device Configurator. However, these new GPIO don't appear in either the Device Configurator under the Peripherals>System>CapSense>MSC 0 Parameters window, nor do they appear in the CapSense Configurator under Scan Configuration> Pin. It almost seems like I am missing a step of either importing the Device Config to the CapSense Configurator or vice versa.
Here you can see I have configured the pin at Port 5, Pin 6 same way as the others and named it E45:
But when I then go to the Peripherals tab and try to assign Row 7 to it, it does not appear in the drop-down list:
If I check the CapSense Configurator, it also does not appear in the drop-down list:
None of the rest of the GPIO that I added show up either. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Infineon.
PSoC Creator allows flash protection with “Design Wide Resources(Flash Security)”.
Please confirm below figure.
Could you please let us know how to apply protection to flash in Modus?
Target device is PSoC4100S Max
PSoC4100S Max only supports Modus.
Best Regards.
