 Have you heard of Arduino ? I am sure you would have come across Arduino atleast once. Let me briefly tell you about Arduino. It is a platform which is considered to be the easiest embedded platform to work with. Programming an Arduino is child's play. The Arduino community makes what is called Arduino shield which can sit on top of any Arduino board and provide additional functionality such as XBEE, WIFI, Ethernet and so on.

A team at Michigan State University has now put together a PSoC5 board which will work with Arduino shield. The overall goal of this project is to have PSoC 5 be “Arduino-friendly”. In other words, one of the team at MSU is trying to have Arduino users purchase PSoC products. The overall goal of this project is to have a design that will prevent any technical difficulty when interacting Arduino shields with PSoC 5.

On module Counter_2_20 I get this warning:

" Error processing element 'register'. error at line 262: invalid address"

Hello Everyone,

Frequency measurements are a common requirement of many applications.

AN2283 - PSoC® 1 Sensing - Measuring Frequency gives a good overview of the many methods that can be used along with their relative error in measurement.

The sample project in the above link, provides an example implementation that is accurate to 0.0016% (16 ppm).

Hi,

This is for those who are facing an issue in installation of PSoC Designer 5.1 SP 2, where the installation hangs and does not complete. It issue has been faced by some users using Windows 7, Vista, XP. This is due to a Microsoft Installer Bug. This message is seen in  the PSoC Designer 5.1 SP 2 download page ( http://www.cypress.com/?rID=41083) also.

 So presently Cypress has provided a workaround by releasing an Emergency Patch. This can be downloaded at:

Please use this only if you face problems with the normal version.

Hey All,

Most of you might have read the appnote - AN73212 - Debugging with PSoC® 1 which gives a wealth of information about the debugging options that one has while working with PSoC and Designer.

I was also looking at one of the training modules (PSoC Designer Module 3: Debugging with PSoC) after a long time and found that it gave a real clear walkthrough of how each feature of the Debugger in Designer can be used. The examples probably cover most of the common fault scenarios. Even though the Designer version is old, it still covers the basic idea behind debugging with PSoC 1. 

If you haven't watched this presentation so far, I highly recommend you do so today!
