Greetings
I have a setup that has been working quite well for quite a long time uptil now.
Suddenly, my psocprogrammer software has stopped working. All it does is come up this screen stating that "psocprogrammer.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close."
I thought it could be related to .net framework or maybe a corrupted installation of cypress tools. So, I uninstalled all cypress tools and re-installed them. I still get the same error.
I also tried "Repair"ing the .net frameworks on my machine. Still no luck
I have simultaneously opened a case with Cypress so that I could get a speedy response. I'm stuck with this problem.
Has anyone seen such behaviour before and possibly guide me where to look?
Regards
Jerson
Show LessOK. I wish to write to the eeprom. I'll figure out how to do it with the api, I'm sure, but I do have some question based on what I've read.
1) Is there a maximum temperature at which you would NOT want to write to the EEPROM? I couldn't find any info.
2) Is the CySetTemp() call embedded into the EEPROM API write calls? I've looked at the code, and found *something* that could be associated with it, but it was "Greek to Me," since it was a bunch of macros.
3) If CySetTemp() it isn't embedded into the EEPROM API, then should I call this before every write?
4) If you only use blocking calls, could you power down the EEPROM between uses? I understand it takes 5 microseconds to start, so a CyDelayUS(10); should give enough time for it to power up, with a safety margin, correct?
5) Does the EEPROM API write a byte at a time, or only a row? I see the Byte Write, but it appears to work in rows in the API, unless I misunderstand the call naming conventions.
THANKS!!!!
Show LessDear all,
I have a wavedac8 block to generate a sine wave. i use a ADC_delsig do converte the generated funcion to digital and i need to transfer that data to computer and see it (like an osciloscope) whith a program like simplot to see the sin funcion on the computer..
can you please help me?
Show LessI am trying to figure out the best way to read a string character by character with the UART. Since it does not have a read string method, I want to write my own.
The method has to return a C string terminated by a null character (the C standard) not delivered by the UART. The number of characters needs to be indefinite. The easiest way to pull this off is to declare a buffer (char array) of a fixed size but this is wasteful. Plus the number of chars may exceed the fixed size.
My knowledge of pointers and dynamic memory allocation in C is not very sound.
Show LessHi all,
Greetings,
I'm trying to design my own application board using PSoC 5lp. All the functionalities of the new board are :
1) Cy8C5868 chip can work well
2) It can be programmed by Miniprog3
3) It can connect to PC using USB
4) connectors for at least 32 GPIOs
5) Powers
In addition, I used development kit to test my application before. I read the schematic of Develpment kit (attached here). But it contains a lot extra modules that I don't need. Sadly, I can't totally understand some modules. Are these parts below necessary for my new design:
1)Voltage Reference
2) Protection circuits
3)Internal Boost Regulator
Could you please also tell me the main function of these parts? 🙂
Also, I will appreciate any suggestions from you about how to design the new board.
Thank you so much!
Show LessI have successfully wired up an iDAC, read it with the DeltaSigma ADC, tied an RTD to it, and read the temperature and put it out as a pulse based frequency on the PWM, using the CYC8Kit-050.
I got a minProg3, was able to plug it into the XyC8Kit-050 and program the board with it, using PSoC Creator, the board being powered from 9VDC in order to prove it wasn't following the other USB path.
I used the "aux" connector to do this.
I bring up PSoC programmer, because I wanted to program the device from the Hex file that the PSoC creator created. The following happened:
1) PSoC programmer found the MiniProg3.
2) The PSoC5LP device was not discovered. The PSoC5LP is NOT in the list of "custom" devices.
MiniProg3 Questions:
1) How can I program a device the programmer doesn't have in its list?
2) I found 7 hex files created by PSoc Creator. 2 config.hex, 2 eeprom.hex, 2 protect.hex, 1 file named after my project. Do I program ALL the files, one after another, or one of them? I've done Google searches to no avail.
I got a schmartBoard. It powers up, and blinks its LED indicating the "bootloaded" program is working. However, using the MiniProg3 and the PSoc Programmer, I could not find it. I finally got the selection window to show up by right clicking on pretty much everything, and accidentally found the setup window. Choosing 5 pin caused it to work. Funny, never saw that in documentation, probably oversight on my part. PSoC Creator can program it, but PSoC programmer can't. Go figure.
Show LessHi Every One !
I would need some help regarding noise generated for the Delta sigma in single end configuration.
As you can see in the schematic as result of array scanning I am geting pulses which votage depend of the pressure applied to every cell in the array. My Vdda is 3.3 v . The issue is that with no pulse, ( checked with osciloscope) there is noise that you can watch in the graphic display picture.
The only way to avoid that is using a PGA before the Delta sigma..
I cannot undestan that. !!!!
And even using a PGA, I need to filter trough code , like high pass filter values above 0x80, wich represent almost a half of the ADC range.
I woul appreciate very much any help.
Show LessHello Everyone,
Could you help me with my ADC, I cannot get it Right I want to use ADC for input range of (+/- 1.25) in a differential input range with a refrenve of vdda/4 = 1.25. could you tell me what is the voltage range and the corresponding digital value in decimal?
Thanks.
maxdamage.
Show LessCan anyone tell me what the problem I have with CY8CKIT-050 to measure the voltage of a resistance of 10 k to 100 uA idac is not true and then varies the channels are 5 v without having connected to the resistor. How do I can find the true voltage?
