Hello,
I have implemented the proposed method on the AN2283 site and fail to measure the frequency of a perfect 2 kHz sinus.
I checked out the external variable: bDataAvailable, wSaveCountNum, cSaveOverFlow , wSaveTickNum and they have the value 0x0000 or 0xFFFF.
Here are some prints and program code attached.
I appreciate your help
Best regards,
Andrei

Hi Andrei,
Is your input signal digital or analog?

Hi Kenny,
The input signal is analog.
Thanks!

Yes I think that's the issue.
You may have to pass your signal through a comparator first, to make it a square wave, then use that as the input-signal.

Can you check if you can see the signal at the output of the comparator?
