I have the CY8CKIT-059 and having trouble with Port0. I have an 8-bit bus output pin definition and use the generated MyPort_Write API.

There are 3 bits on Port0 that refuse to respond: P0_2, P0_3 and P0_4. I see these also have other functions none of which I uses (explicitly at least): SAR ADC (0 and 1) and Ext Ref0.

So do I have to set any additional registers to make this work or did I manage to blow these bits up...?

Probably the caps?

I have tried on Port3 as well and there I can see P3_2 has a smaller (less wide) pulse, but on Port0 I got nothing. Same Cap value acoording to the schematic...

I am planning on using these Ports as Address and Data busses. I do not need their other features. Is there any harm in disconnecting these caps? I thought I could stand them up so I don't lose them... 😉

Thanx.

The caps are for buffering some of the reference voltages and for CapSense.

Yep, I lifted the caps and it now works flawlessly (afaict).

Perhaps provide some solder jumpers in vNext of the board?
