Hi,

We've bought some CY8C5868AXI-LP035 with the final characters "ES" and I'm trying to program it on both methods: PSoC Creator (4.4) and PSoC Programmer 3.29.1 and I'm getting the follow errors:

  • PSoC Programmer: Program Finished at 15:15:26 |
    | Programming Terminated
ERROR! ---> | The hex file does not match with the acquired device, please check the device
Device set to CY8C5888AXI-LP061 at 15:15:26 | 262144 FLASH bytes
Device Family set to CY8C5xxxLP at 15:15:26 |
    | Automatically Detected Device: CY8C5888AXI-LP061
    | JtagID: 2E 13 D0 69
  • PSoC Creator:  "this device was recognized, but PSoC Creator does not support using at this time"

Can someone help me?

Hello.

PSoC Programmer has identified the target device as CY8C5888AXI-LP061.  You can't program CY8C5888AXI-LP061 FLASH with a build for CY8C5868AXI-LP035ES.

Look carefully at the label on the device.  Does it show CY8C5868AXI-LP035ES?

Try re-building the project with CY8C5888AXI-LP061 as the selected device.  Then, try to program it.
If it programs, then CY8C5888AXI-LP061 is the part you have.

Hi,

Thank you for the reply, the chip label shows CY8C5868AXI-LP035ES. On PSoC creator doesn't shows this device for me to rebuild the project, currently the project is built has CY8C5868AXI-LP035.

Hello.

The "ES" suffix means engineering sample.  Don't worry about not finding an "ES" part in Creator (for the moment).

I think the part you have is mislabelled.  That's why PSoC Programmer identifies it as CY8C5888AXI-LP061.  To verify this, build a load with CY8C5888AXI-LP061 as the target and try to program it.  If it programs successfully, then the part is mislabelled.  If it doesn't program, then there's still an issue.

Hi,

Maybe is mislabelled, but on my PSoC Creator 4.4 I can't find the CY8C5888AXI-LP061 on the device selector. You think it could be on old PSoC creator versions?

Hello.

I searched Creator 3.1 and could not find CY8C5888AXI-LP061.  I could not find any 5LP datasheet with this device.

CY8C5888AXI-LP061 has support in PSoC Programmer.  I wonder if it's supported in Keil or uvision, or some other IDE?

Have to wait for Cypress the respond to this question.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
Good luck with your project.

Hi @Ruben

Apologies for the delay. Can you please let us know the source of the device and when the device was purchased?

Just to reiterate,  you purchased the CY8C5868AXI-LP035ES device but the device is recognized as a CY8C5888AXI-LP061 device even though the part number of the device mentions CY8C5868AXI-LP035ES. Can you please confirm the same?

The CY8C5888AXI-LP061 device is an outdated device and is not supported in PSoC Creator. I am checking with the internal team if the device can be enabled. I will provide a response on this thread as soon as I get an update.

Thanks and Regards,

Hello @Rakshith ,

I don't know the source because we pay a company to solder the PCB and buy the BOM, so I don't know where they buy the part numbers that is on the BOM.

The original part number was CY8C5868AXI-LP035, but when we received the PCB, it was mounted with the CY8C5868AXI-LP035ES (it's label on top of the chip) and when we tried to program the project into  the chip is was recognized as a CY8C5888AXI-LP061, but as you said I couldn't find it on PSoC Creator.

Thank you,

Ruben
