First question asked Welcome!

Hi,

We are looking for a customized microcontroller for PLC communication or a PLC integrated circuit compatible with our existing microcontroller and topology in our New Generation 25-33 kW Solar Inverter products.

In our new generation solar inverter product of 10-25-33 kW, which is the subject of this meeting with you, we are planning to use 50 measurement units for 100 PV panels, each of which will measure 2 panels and transfer them to the PLC line.

We request your opinions on whether your PLC solutions will enable the electrical measurements of each of the 16 serially connected PV units that we aim in our product to be able to transport to the central inverter with 800VDC (1200VDC max) via PLC.

In each communication module, communication signals must be coupled serially on 12A DCmax current and the signals must be read over this line. In this way, 3-4 strings are connected in parallel and connected to the inverter's DC bus. The total current in this line can also be 50A DCmax. It is not necessary for the communication unit on the inverter to be serially on the power line.

There are buck output capacities connected in parallel to the output of each module. (this is important to know the high frequency path)

In the current design we are taking a few measurements from PV units by using some electronic equipments which creates

-15 Khz Switching Signal
-100 Khz Switching Signal
-50 Khz Switching Signal

switching noises over the PLC line.

We would like to further find out if your company's PLC microcontroller solutions have filtering solutions that can communicate uninterruptedly between such switching signals.

The data to be read from each measurement point is around 20 bytes. Data will be requested from each communication point at the most frequent 1 minute intervals. However, the request response with a period of 1 second will be found continuously on the system. Communication is 2-way, from the inverter to the measuring points.

We have Power Line Communication Solutions in our portfolio. Unfortunately this product line is very mature, and we have little support for it.

However, I can answer some of your technical questions.

  • We do not have a record of any of our customer operating at 800V DC or above.
  • The payload of our PLC solution is 31 bytes.
  • The frequencies we use are 130.4kHz/133.3kHz or 131.8kHz/133.3kHz.

Best regards,
