I have a CY8CKIT042. Besides that, there are some evaluation kit, for example CY8CKIT049, CY8CKIT149, etc. Please let me know difference between these kits. If there is more suitable kit for my application, I consider that using it.

Hello,

Different kits use different PSoC product families. Choose the kit that fits your peripheral and ROM / RAM capacity.
Some Development Kits have Arduino Uno compatible pin headers, ready to use third party shields.
Detailed information on the kit can be obtained from this URL

Hi,

Basically an EVB is for evaluating the particular device mounted on that board.

For PSoC 4

PSoC 4000 (CapSense and standard MCU feature)

PSoC 4100 (4000 + Analog Block)

PSoC 4200 (4100 + Digital Block)

So if you are currently using CY8CKIT-042 (4200),

probably moving  to an EVB with 4200/4200M/4200L device is safer.

CY8CKIT-149 has 4100S Plus device, so it does not have UDB.

(But it has SmartIO, though)

https://www.cypress.com/documentation/development-kitsboards/cy8ckit-149-psoc-4100s-plus-prototyping...

Now about CY8CKIT-049,

https://www.cypress.com/documentation/development-kitsboards/psoc-4-cy8ckit-049-4xxx-prototyping-kit...

It does not have KitProg, it has only USB-Serial adapter. So programming must be done via bootloader or an external programming device such as MiniProg3, MiniProg4, or KitProg from other board.

So, IMHO, I don't recommend someone new to PSoC to use CY8CKIT-049.

Meantime, there are a couple type of EVBs

(1) Prototyping Kit

Has KitProg and most of I/Os are available for the user.

Example: CY8CKIT-043

https://www.cypress.com/documentation/development-kitsboards/cy8ckit-043-psoc-4-m-series-prototyping...

(2) Pioneer Kit

Has some basic peripherals, some external devices, Arduino Uno type Connector, just like CY8CKIT-042

Example: CY8CKIT-044

https://www.cypress.com/documentation/development-kitsboards/cy8ckit-044-psoc-4-m-series-pioneer-kit

Since you are using CY8CKIT-042, considering CY8CKIT-044 or CY8CKIT-043 will be easier to move.

Last but not least, there are many EVBs, so please browse them and find suitable one(s) for yourself.
