We are using the 4100M and programming it using the miniprog3. We want to include UART interfacing with it and if there are any recommendations for the implementation that is an alternative to the kitprog.

Hi,

Bootloader must be used to program PSoC4M over UART.

Please refer to the following application note AN68272 for details.

Hello.

Just Google "usb to uart adapter" and you will find hundreds of USB to UART adapters.  The majority of which use FTDI chips.  Just make sure you get the adapter that runs at the voltage your target uses.

Yes, Cypress also makes USB to UART chips (examples CY7C65211-24LTXI, CY7C68013A_FX2LP) but they require programming development.

And as MaMi pointed out, you'll need a Host Boot Bootloader application running on the PC/Mac/Linux/other platform.

Hope this helps.  (unless we've completely misunderstood your request)
