Don't believe discontinues, it's just demand
You can't wait for distribution to have parts in then inventory then order. You have to order to get in line. If you think the wait is going to be a year, then waiting a year to order and hoping for immediacy will only get you another year when you place your order. Sorry, that's the current demand cycle. That said, you might get better deliveries, but no guarantees. Infineon is building another multi-billion dollar foundry, but it takes a while and won't solve your immediate problem.
