Dear Sirs and Madams,
We are considering using PSoC4S Plus as a segment LCD driver.
The data sheet for PSoC4S Plus has the following description:
-- PSoC4S Plus device datasheet URL
The data sheet for Segment LCD componet has the following description:
-- Segment component datasheet URL
We would like to use it in 8 coms and 32 segments, but is the information in the device datasheet correct?
The device under consideration for use is CY8C4126AZI-S445.
So the number of GPIOs in the 64-TQFP package is 54.
The total GPIO for 8 coms and 32 segments is 40, so the number of GPIOs is fine.
For reference, in PSoC Creator, 8 coms and 32 segments did not cause a build error in the CY8C4126AZI-S445's project.
Regards,

Hello, The Segment component datasheet mentioned in your description is for PSoC 3, not PSoC4.
Best Regards,
Ryan

Ryan-san,
Thank you for your support.
I apologize for making a mistake in my attachment.
PSoC4 Segment LCD v1.30
The component data sheet does not mention the maximum number of segments.
When I set the Segment LCD component of PSoC4S Plus to setting 8 coms x 32 segments in PSoC Cretator, there are no build errors and it seems that there is only a limit on the number of GPIOs.
Why does PSoC4L support 64 outputs (common or segment) and PSoC4M support 49 outputs (8 commons x 41 segments), however PSoC4S Plus up to 30 segments with the same components?
PSoC4M Datasheet
PSoC4L Datasheet
Please tell us what is the correct information.
If PSoC4S Plus only supports up to 30 segments, Please fix it so that it generate an error in PSoC Creator or update the component data sheet.
PSoC4 series uses the same Segment LCD components, However the specifications are too different depending on the series of PSoC4 devices :
PSoC4100, PSoC4200, PSoC4100S MAX, PSoC4500S, PSoC4100S Plus, PSoC4M, PSoC4L and so on,
// Segment LCD component //
PSoC4L : LCD drive supported on any pin with up to a maximum of 64 outputs (common or segment).
PSoC4M : The PSoC 4200M has an LCD controller, which can drive up to eight commons and up to 49 segments.
PSoC4S : The PSoC 4000S has an LCD controller, which can drive up to 8 commons and up to 28 segments.
PSoC4100S Plus : PSoC 4100S Plus has an LCD controller, which can drive up to 8 commons and up to 30 segments.
PSoC4500S : PSoC 4500S has an LCD controller, which can drive up to 4 commons and up to 50 segments.
PSoC4100S MAX : PSoC 4100S Max has an LCD controller, which can drive up to 4 commons and up to 64 segments.
