Place the pin onto the topdesign, right click on it and select "Configure..." (or double click, that does the same). Open and read the pins datasheet to get acquainted to its capabilities. When "HW connection" is checked, you may connect the pin to any signal using the "Wire" tool (called by entering a "W". There are some videos showing how to connect components.
