How to connect a sensor to the header of the main board

I researched the pins you want to place the sensors on and it appears they are already assigned to the evaluation touchpad, slider, and buttons.
You can open up the pins that are already assigned, but it would be difficult to assign them to the pins (J1, J2, J3, J6, J4) on the main board because of the wiring pattern.
Therefore, as far as I know, the only way to extend the 40-pin connector is to use a board like the link.

I want to know how to connect one external electrostatic sensor to the Expansion Headers of the Pioneer Board of CY8CKIT-041S-MAX.

Hi @tk1 ,

I would suggest you go through the datasheet of the "electrostatic sensor", and connect the sensor to the GPIOs of the S-MAX kit. If the GPIOs need to be configured as special-purpose pins, specific GPIOs need to be configured. You may find detailed information in section 3.1 Alternate pin functions of the datasheet.

Hi, @tk1

You can assign a Capsense sensor to any of the GPIOs from the tool.

Capsense can be connected to the pins corresponding to MSC_SENSE described in the datasheet.

The tool uses the capsense configurator. You can either auto assign or manually specify the pins.

For more information, we recommend referring to the ModusToolbox™ CAPSENSE™ Configurator user guide.

And for a touch one button,I guess you can carry out your project by using the capsense configrator to change the capsense pin assignment assigned to the sample code here.

I want to insert a pin somewhere on J1, J2, J3, J6, J4 on the main board and make one touch sensor.
When I try to configure with Capsense configurator, Device Configurator
Settings cannot be made with the terminals on the main board.
Only pin numbers on the SENSING Expansion Board can be set.
Is it possible to do it with any pin of J1, J2, J3, J6, J4 on the main board?
I want to know how to set it.
