Hi!

I am using the CY8C4045FNI-DS400 (20-WLCSP) in a new design to manage some devices over i2c.

https://community.infineon.com/t5/PSoC-4/CY8C4045FNI-DS400T/m-p/335222/highlight/true?attachment-id=...

KitProg2 USB loaded with latest KitProg3 firmware.

I receive the error in the screenshot.

Can you help?

Hi @djsftree

As there is a device ID mismatch, can you please get in touch with your distributor. This could be a defective device and your distributor can help with the authenticity of the device.
I also observed that there is no Cypress logo printed on the device. Please check with your distributor about this device.

Warm Regards
Alen

What is the  19_A0_13_A4 ?  Maybe I have bad silicon?  Cables are good, just 6cm from device.

Very confused.

PSoC Creator target selector suggests CY8C4045FNI-DS400 family is 4000DS with ID 0x19xxxxA9

The PSoC 4 series TRM "1.3 Target Overview" says the 4000DS should be 0x17xxxxA7.  Families starting with 0x19 appear to be 4000S,4100S,4100PS.

Hi @djsftree ,

The PSoC 4 series TRM is accurate and the DS devices, that is DS402 devices have a Si ID of type 0x17xxxxA7 but for the DS400 device, the Si ID is of type 0x19xxxxA9 as an exception.
Hence the Si ID of the CY8C4045FNI-DS400 device is 19_A0_12_A9.

Since PSoC Creator is recognizing/reading the Si ID as 19_A0_13_A4 as per the screenshot of the same that you shared, I believe your device maybe defective as a part with this Si ID does not exist in the database.

Can you please let me know the source from where you procured the devices?

Have you tried to program other devices/chips of CY8C4045FNI-DS400 as well and are they giving the same error?

Warm Regards
Alen

Hi Alen,

I've just tried four assembled boards - again returning 19_A0_13_A4.

Best photo I could get of the part - sourced form Digi-Key.
