Show LessI learn linker script recently and there are two commands which confused me. They are EXTERN and PROVIDE. In these article, it said EXTERN is force symbol to be entered in the output file as an undefined symbol. I try to add EXTERN(test) in the linker script and why can it compile and link successfully? I mean the test is undefined symbol, why can it link without any error? And for PROVIDE command, in my understanding, it is mainly avoid multiple definition and I try to add symbol test = .(without PROVIDE)in data section of linker script and declare variable int test in my source code, but why there is no error when linking? Shouldn't it be multiple definition error?

I'm a free lance AutoCAD operator. I came across a set of electrical drawings with Infineon name on them. I am always looking for ways to make my drawings more crisp and clear. Below is a snipit of the drawing I'm talking about. If there is someone that would be willing to help me figure out what font they use and how they get their drawings to look so crisp, it would be much appreciated.

I am working on TDA5235 and I read the value of the serial numberr register (SN0 ~ SN3 register) to check the SPI.
When I checked, the serial number value didn't come out consistently.
So, I want to compare it to what is in the datasheet, but I don't know what that means.
What does "SN0.6 set to 1 and SN0.5 set to 0" mean?

Is there an application, networking page, or KBA that identifies Infineon's technology families that support CAN interface control? I believe this includes: Aurix, Traveo, XMC, PSoC, Motix, and others.
Infineon has parts that support CAN interfaces as well as transceivers to drive CAN interfaces.
Infineon's CAN and CAN-FD transceivers appear to be represented in a single webpage: Automotive CAN Transceivers @ https://www.infineon.com/cms/en/product/transceivers/automotive-transceiver/automotive-can-transceivers/?term=can&view=kwr&intc=searchkwr
Note: I find it very difficult to search for "CAN". A method of identifying all CAN interface options and technologies would be appreciated.

I'm looking for a smart card or any secure chip that supports version 3.1.0 of Java Card. According to my research, NXP JCOP 7 has this feature.
Is there exist the same product? Otherwise, Can you help me, how and where can I prepare it?
Infineon offers ESD and Surge protection @ https://www.infineon.com/cms/en/product/esd-and-surge-protection/
Are any of Infineon's protection components recommended for Lightning induced surge?
