What is the function of the LC circuit in front of the sensor?

The two signals input to the LC circuit are amplified and inverted square wave signals. The output signal after passing through the LC is used to drive the sensor. What is the function of the LC circuit? I thought it was a low-pass wave but later found out that it is not.
