Nor Flash Forum Discussions
AN217000 (Programmer’s Guide for Cypress S25FL-L Serial NOR Flash Products)
The status register E_ERR and P_ERR bits are updated while WIP =1.
When P_ERR or E_ERR bits are set to one, the WIP bit will remain set to one indicating the device remains busy and unable to receive new operation commands.
Show LessHello,
We are using Hyper flash S26KS512SDPBHM020 with V3H SoC. We are trying to set some sectors to be protected but we are not able to unlock them.
Actually, after successfully execution of password unlock(Status register 0x80), Executing Write sequence resulting in Lock status Error.
Status register : 0x92 device ready , which means (Device ready, Program error, Sector locked error).
Below is sequence followed:
- Read Ppb lock bit ( 0xFF)
- Set password sequence
- Read password sequence(Read password matches input password)
- Set ASPR register with password protection mode(permanent)
- Set PPB sector protection sequence
- Set ppb lock bit Sequence
- Check lockbit(0xFE)
- Read status : 0x80
- Erase sector sequence and status read (0xA2 : Device ready, Erase fail, Sector Lock error)
- Clear register (0x80 : Device ready)
- Write sector sequence and Status read (0x92 : device ready, Program Fail, Sector locked error)
- Read status(x92) : Program error, Lock bit error.
Hi,
I would like to know the IOH Max and Min value of SO pin of S25FL256SAGMFIR01, as my Loading Fails with the IOH Tested value of -0.1mA Mentioned in Datasheet.
Thanks & Regards,

Show LessPlease suggest CY alternatives part for Micron automotive SPI NOR flash.
Micron part numbers are MT25QU512ABB8ESF-0AAT and MT25QL01GBBB8E12-0AAT,
if there is no automotive part that can be suggested, please advise the industrial .part.
Show LessDear All,,,
I am now in NOR Flash Memory of Cypress
We are testing our application using S29GL064S90TFVV.
Buffer timeout occurs intermittently during buffer write operation.
Please let me know how long you should set the maximum write buffer timeout value of the NOR Flash!
Thank you.
Hi,
The data sheet “8.11 Reset Command” states that tRPH is required to complete the software reset command.
->A software reset command (RSTEN 66h followed by RST 99h) is executed when CS# is brought HIGH at the end of the instruction
and requires tRPH time to execute.
In Table 53, there is a Min value of tRPH of 100 μs.
Please let me know the Maximum value of tRPH.
Or, Is there another way to determine if the software reset is complete?
Best Regards,
Kumada
Hi,
We are interfacing SPANSION FL256LAVF01 and NRF52840 and facing issues with page programming.
Info(step):
1. I have using 3-byte addressing default mode.
2. first write 256-byte data
Command sequence:
- write_enable(0x06),sector_erase(0x20,0x00,0x00,0x00), write_enable(0x06),write_data(0x02,0x00,0x00,0x00,...252-byte data)- It is working and able to read it.
3. Second, write 256-byte data
Command sequence
- write_enable(0x06),write_data(0x02,0x00,0x02,0x00,...252-byte data)- This is not working and getting data as 255 for all 252 byte. And also i am tring with other address but behaviour is same.
And also I am not able to read any status/configuration register.
- read_config(0x65,0x80,0x00,0x04)
I am doing anything wrong?
please provide me if you have SPANSION FL256LAVF01 software note or any document related to software.
Show LessHi
Would anyone be able to advise whether leads on cypress components are Matt tin over Nickel or over silver... or something else? The online data for S29AL016J70TFI020 (here https://www.cypress.com/part/s29al016j70tfi020 ) only specifies Matte tin, but in order to justify a tin whisker mitigation plan it is important to identify the barrier between the lead and the tin finish. Any pointers that help identify this would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
John.
