We ran into an obsolescence issue on our product. Previously we were using Micron part N25Q128A13ESE40G but now we're using Cypress part S25FL127S. Our processor loaded up fine and it seemed like a perfect drop-in replacement but after several weeks in the field we are experiencing a high number of failures that we've traced back to the S25FL127S. We haven't yet been able to determine if the part is breaking or if it is being corrupted.
Doing some research I notice that Cypress has its own SPI Flash U-boot patch. Since all of our design for this product was done by a 3rd party vendor I'm not sure if any u-boot changes were made when we switch parts. Could this cause the flash to have a delayed failure?

2. Thermal resistance to CASE
3. Max Junction Temperature.

I am creating a design with a PSOC4200M (CY8C4247-AZI) and a cypress 64Mbit NOR flash S25FL064L
1.
Is there any example project i can reference on regarding adding the SLLD (Serial Lowe Level Drivers) i.e. Cypress_SLLD_v16.2.1.
2.
After I get that to work, I am planning to add on top the cypress FFS (Flash file system)..
is there any information on how that is done?

The data sheet lists the maximum SCK drive frequency.
The minimum drive frequency is described as DC (Don't Care).
If you want to drive the SPI from the bus master with SCK = 10kHZ, will there be any problems with the SPI operation?

Show LessHello! We are looking for Rthjc on S29JL064J (especifically on S29JL064J60TFA000). There is not any information regarding max junction temperature, thermal resistance case to ambient or junction or any thermal data on data sheet.
I've read on AN201006a relation between Rthja and thermal characterization parameter from top surface of the package-to-air. However, I see no relation between thermal characterization parameter from device junction to package top [°C/W] and Rthjc.
In any case, if I am interested on Rthjc, can this data be provided by the manufacturer?
I deduced Tjmax =150ºC, based on Reliability Reports

We have received a linux patch file “linux-3.14.27-s70gl02gs.patch.zip” from BushraH_91 on Aug 7, 2019 3:10 PM in the below discussion.

S70GL02GS is being detected as 128 MB on our custom board. Towards this we have few questions on the patch file:
Is the patch applicable for Linux version 4.14?
On which version of Linux version was this patch validated?

Please let me know the test conditions (voltage, operating temperature) for Maximum value of tPP (Page Programming time) in S25FL064LABMFI010.
Also, I would like to know the actual value of page programming time (Tpp) when used under the operating conditions, VCC = 3.3V , Ta = 55 degC.
Is there a calculation method?
