Hi,

Can you tell me about the VCC current during power-on for S29GL032N90TFI030?
I checked the datasheet but could not find it.

Hello Kumada,

Inside the S29GL064S, the device control logic is subdivided into two parallel operating sections, the Host Interface Controller (HIC) and the Embedded Algorithm Controller (EAC).  The S29GL032N only has a state machine and does not have the HIC and EAC.  Therefore, the current consumption during power-up is significantly higher on the S29GL064S (which has these controllers), than that of the S29GL032N (which only has a state machine), hence as to the reason why the current consumption during power-up is not listed for the S29GL032N.

Hello Kumada,

Thank you for contacting Infineon Technologies.

For your awareness, the S29GL032Nxx family series is not recommended for new design and is now obsolete. Please migrate to the S29GL064Sxx.

During the 'Power Up' phase, the hardware RESET current is 5uA (max.).  After the device initializes after the 'RESET' phase, the device immediately goes into the 'READ' mode, and will remain in the 'READ' mode until specific embedded commands are sent to the FLASH to initiate an embedded operation.   When the host system is not reading or writing to the FLASH, it can place the FLASH in the standby mode.  In this mode, current consumption is reduced, and the outputs are placed in the high impedance state, independent of the OE# input.  The device enters the standby mode when the CE# and RESET# pins are both held at VIO ± 0.3 V.  The FLASH device requires standard access time (tCE) for read access when the device is in either of these standby modes, before it is ready to read data ('READ' mode).

Hi Albert-san,

Thank you for your answer.

Just we propose migration from S29GL32N to S29GL064S.

I checked the S29GL064S datasheet and found that the current consumption during power-on is large, so I wanted to check the level of consumption for the GL32N product.
