First question asked Welcome!

I’m trying to use the S25FS064SAGBHI020 as a drop in replacement for the ATXP032-CCUE-T,  an old EOL'ed Adesto NOR Flash device.

Will anything bad happen if I have either VSS or VCC tied to one of the DNU pins on the device (for example Pins B1, C1, or D1)?

Thanks!

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Infineon Technologies.

With regards to the S25FS064SAGBHI020, solder balls, B1, C1, and D1 do not have an internal pull-down, but may be connected to the package connector (solder ball).  The connection may be used by Infineon for test or other purposes and is not intended for connection to any host system signal.  Any DNU signal related function will be inactive when the signal is at VIL, and may be left unconnected in the host system or may be tied to VSS.  Do not use these connections for PCB signal routing channels. Do not connect any host system signal to these DNU connections.   Allowing B1, C1 and D1 to be connecting to VDD may put the device into a test mode that is not intended for normal operation.  Therefore, leaving B1, C1, and D1 unconnected is recommended.
