Hi all
I previously asked a question about how multiple program operations on the same page affect flash wear out (S25FL164K: Do multiple program operation on the same page reduce data integrity?)
However, some things are still unclear to me. So I thought I'll ask a follow-up question with some examples.
(At the start of each Scenario all Sectors of the flash are in the erased state.)
Scenario 1 (write one page):
- Write 0x00 to Page 1 Sector 1
- Erase Sector 1
How many P/E cycles? (I think 1)
Scenario 2 (write Page 1 twice):
- Write 0x0F to Page 1 Sector 1
- Write 0xF0 to Page 1 Sector 1
- Erase Sector 1
How many P/E cycles? (I think 1)
Scenario 2 (write two pages):
- Write 0x00 to Page 1 Sector 1
- Write 0x00 to Page 2 Sector 1
- Erase Sector 1
How many P/E cycles? (I think 1)
I would be glad if someone could confirm my assumptions of the P/E cycles for each scenario.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Hi,
Sorry for the delay.
Yes, your understanding is correct. Only 1 endurance cycle will be consumed in each the scenarios that you mentioned above.
Thanks and Regards,
Sudheesh
