First question asked Welcome!

Hi There, for the NOR Flash family, FS-S, with the part number S25FS128SAGMFI101, will there be an early life failure or any other issues (like excess leakage current) if the IC has 3.3V power and not the recommended power range of 1.7V to 2V?

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Cypress Semiconductor

The S25FS-S has a specified operating voltage range of 1.7V 2.0V.  The specified operating range define those limits between which the functionality of the S25FS-S FLASH device is guaranteed.  No warranty and/or guarantee is granted and/or honored when the S25FS-S is electrically overstressed, as irreversible damage may occur.  When the user violates the datasheet specification, the user assumes all responsibility and accountability for any premature and/or catastrophic failure of the application, due to electrically overstressing  the S25FS-S FLASH device outside of its specified operating voltage range.  Therefore, it is not recommended to violate the S25FS-S datasheet specification, as it is not a sound design practice to do so.

It is highly recommended to place your order for the S25FL-S (2.7V - 3.6V) FLASH memory device.

Hope this helps...
