Hello, Techteam

We've been using the NOR Flash AM29F032B for several years on our products. A strange event has been occurred twice during these years. Data of some address units all turned into 0x00 when the programm only read the flash. The throuble address units are as follow:

Product No.1

0x1--0x4FE40

0x4FE81--0x4FF40

Product No.2

0x1--0xF4240

0xF4301--0xF431E

We are sure that our timing design is correct as the datasheet informed. Could you please explain the reason for this event? Thank you very much!

Hello Tang,

Please clarify the below queries :

On how many devices did you observe the issue.

You have mentioned the issue happened only twice. When you try to program the new data in those locations  were you able to read the correct data.

Thanks,

krishna.

hi krishna,

thank you for the reply. We produced 400 devices  and each of them  has one flash chip. The data were  written  one  month ago and when we checked them(hy just reading test)the issue happend. 2 devices got the problem. We reprogramed the locations and the data were read correct again. We tried really hard to test the chip but the issue never happened again. It's a mystery to us now.
