Hi,
We use a '0P' speed option (Burst Frequency) part which is 66MHz version. The part number is S29WS256P0PBFW000
Can we directly replace this part with a 'AB' version which is a 104MHz version (part number S29WS256PABBFW000)?
In the datasheet, there are tables in page 70 about the wait state requirement but, there is no text explaining how to interpret these tables.
Thanks

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Infineon Technologies.
To answer your question, 'yes,' the 'AB' speed grade (104MHz) can replace the '0P' speed grade (66MHz). However, it is important to highlight that if the maximum operating frequency is less than or equal to 66MHz, but greater than 54 MHz the wait state requirement is 7, as detailed on pg. 67, Section 11.9.1 within the S29WS-P datasheet. If the operating is less than or equal to 104MHz, but greater than 95MHz, the wait state requirement is 11.
Best regards,
