Hi,
Under an environment of 100°C,
does the Data Retention Time Minimum Time=20years (10K Program/Erase Cycles) described in the datasheet?
Best Regards,
Kumada

Hello Kumada,
No, there is no problem with continuous operation for 24hrs. at 100C, especially if only the 'READ' operation is initiated, and the operating ambient temperature does not exceed the indicated temperature range specifications. The S25FL128LAGMFB000 is AEC-Q100 Automotive Grade-2 with a temperature range of -40C to +105C. Therefore, 10-year. data retention at 100C is not a problem, at all.

Hello Kumada,
Thank you for contacting Infineon Technologies
With regards to Floating Gate technology, if the cumulative erase cycles are "1,000 cycles and less," the typical data retention goes from 20 to 10 years. Therefore, applications that would require only a few erase cycles can expect data to be retained for 20 years. In general, a few erase cycles should make no difference. The temperature
at which the product is stored (unbiased - no power applied) does make a difference. If the temperature is below 55°C, there might not be any issues. However, at higher storage temperatures, especially for extended periods would require a computation to be done to ensure the data supports the (storage) longevity.
The S25FL128LAGMFB000 is a floating gate device, with a maximum operating ambient temperature of 105C. This FLASH memory device will certainly provide (at least) a minimum 10,000 program and erase cycles, as long as the operating temperature and operating voltage conditions are within the indicated datasheet specifications.

Hi Albert-san,
Thank you for your comment.
We are assuming 24-hour continuous operation at 100°C. After programming once, we basically do not rewrite the program.
Under these conditions, we need a data retention period of 10 years.
Is this a problem?
