Does anyone have a communication example with CY15B116QN? I have no problem getting a stable reading from registers like Device ID,   but very random luck with reading and writing. No problem with smaller-size FRAMs. Supplying 3.3V off the Atmel SAMD21 chip via standard SPI at 8MHz. Thank you.

WRITE to F-RAM works fine only once, right after the multi-byte READ command it stops writing data, and not a single subsequent iterations work.

PS: WP is connected to VDD.

Hi @mikkadim,

It's is a good practice to place decoupling capacitors on the supply lines. Please refer to the KBA for the reference schematic.

Thanks,

Ritwick

Wow. Looks like decoupling caps 0.1uF  close to the chip helped.
It's better to be mentioned in the spec.

Hi @mikkadim,

We recommend keeping the decoupling capacitor as close as possible to the device pin.

Could you please let me know if the issue is completely resolved?

Thanks,
Ritwick

Hi Ritwick,

I would recommend having decoupling capacitors for this chip now too, but I saw not a single word about capacitors in a datasheet.
