First question asked Welcome!
Please could you provide answers to questions regarding the 54-pin TSOP II as presented in the attachment. I am not sure if it is the 150 C limit or 85 C limit.

1.       What is the recommended operating junction temperature for the part?
2.       Does the part works at the maximum junction temperature?
3.       What is the  maximum recommended junction temperature up to which the part works normally?

Hi,

1) There is as such no recommended value for operating junction temperature. As long as you are operating the device under datasheet listed conditions for VCC and Ambient temperature the device will be fine.

2)  Tj max is the maximum temperature that the device tolerates to guarantee reliable operation. The system designer needs to ensure that TJ < TJmax to guarantee reliability. For this part part Tj max is 150 C as also listed in the datasheet.

3) The max recommended value from our side will be calculated by the below formula

Tj max (recommended) = Pd x Theta Ja + Ta   (where Ta and Pd are also max)

Tj = Vcc x Icc x Theta Ja + Ta (calculation done for 25/30 ns part)

Tj = 99 C.

Thanks,

Pradipta.
