First question asked Welcome!

In Infineon's page there has a solution about about Electric parking brake.

I have a question about whether this  solution can satisfy VDA's(Verband der Automobilindustrie) requirement of EPB ?

If it can satisfy VDA's requirment it may be a very good cheap solution for EPB.

Infineon's EPB solution:

Electric parking brake - Infineon Technologies

Hi @zhaobo ,

The BTN8962 and BN9960 devices are high-current single-half bridges for motor drive applications. They provide protection and diagnosis features. The devices are not specifically designed for electronic parking brakes but are widely used in automotive motor drive applications. Whether the devices fulfil the VDA recommendation for electric parking brakes depends on the integration on the system level.

Both the BTN8962TA and BTN99960LV have been developed according to the product development process outlined in the Quality Management (QM) standards, but not developed in accordance with the ISO26262 set of standards. There are no ASIL-classified safety requirements assigned to these products.

However, the BTN9960LV is ISO 26262-ready, and an additional functional safety analysis has been performed. The related document (safety application note) can be shared under NDA.

Best Regards,
