What guidance is available for Stepper Motor Drive?

Infineon has one active Stepper Motor driver, TLE8444SL with 4 channels rated to 0.8A and 18Volts.

For stronger Stepper Motors, what does Infineon suggest?

I'd like to drive a 36V, 8A stepper motor.

The closest I found was IFX9201SG for 36V, 6A or TLE8209-2SA for 28V, 10A.

I've found Stepper Motor Control Examples. Does Infineon have recommendations for 36V, 8A Driver FETs?

Hello @GrCa_1363456

The following products may be looked into for stepper motor control:

  1. The TLE94104EP may be used for Stepper motor control : https://www.infineon.com/dgdl/Infineon-TLE94104EP-DS-v01_00-EN.pdf?fileId=5546d4626176435901618f1274...

However, it is difficult to implement microstepping using this device as TLE94104 cannot provide current loop to realize the micro step control.

  1. KIT_XMC1300_IFX9201 may be used for Stepper motor control. Microstepping is possible:

https://www.infineon.com/cms/en/product/evaluation-boards/kit_xmc1300_ifx9201/

  1. TLE8444SL – Stepper motor control possible but micro-stepping is difficult.

https://www.infineon.com/cms/en/product/power/motor-control-ics/servo-and-stepper-motor-driver/tle84...

The ratings of these products are available in respective datasheets and users should check the same for compatibility with their applications.

Hello @GrCa_1363456

Before we can provide you with the best information, can you let us know if you need micro stepping for the stepper motor control ?

RupakC,

Please provide guidance for both cases, with and without stepping.

Your responses here in Infineon's Community will benefit everyone who has similar issues with either stepper application.  Guidance for both with and without stepping will show Infineon's technical capabilities for both cases.
